Health Action Zone (HAZ)
Partnership between the National Health Service (NHS), local authorities, the voluntary sector and local communities to tackle health inequalities and modernise services. HAZs are targeted on areas of highest deprivation. (See their webpage at http://www.haznet.org.uk/).
Health and Safety Policy
A document that states your commitment to health and safety practices. By law, employers who have more than five employees must have a written health and safety policy. (See VAN briefing no. 61, and contact the Health ad Safety Executive for guidance on preparing a policy, at www.hse.gov.uk).
Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF)
Using money from the National Lottery, HLF gives grants to support a wide range of projects involving the local, regional and national heritage of the United Kingdom. (See HLF's webpage at http://www.hlf.org.uk/).
Highlands Advice & Information Network (HAIN)
Located in Inverness, HAIN is the umbrella organisation for the independent advice agencies in the Highlands. Each agency has its own page and there are also welfare news and updates pages. (http://www.hain.org.uk/).
